Thank you to the Ark Cat Sanctuary for taking in 7 cats from us last week (in addition to bottle baby kittens.)

3 cats came from a family in Tuba City with too many cats. One one of these cats has serious mouth ulcers which may be feline resorption syndrome. Thank you to Elward and Dr. Holgate for picking up these cats and for initial assessment and care.

2 adult cats and 2 kittens came from a kind family in Leupp that helps stray and dumped cats. Thank you to Evonne for all her care, and for bringing the cats to Flagstaff. Thank you to Ashely for helping gather cat carriers and supplies, and thank you to Jacie for a ride out to Parks.

And then there is this girl, who also, thankfully got rescued a couple days ago.

We were contacted by Jeremy who was visiting our area, about a friendly stray momma dog at a rest area west of Kayenta, over a week ago. He was trying to find rescue for her. He was traveling with his own dogs and not able to take her with him. Jeremy was able to give the exact location (pin drop) but he hadn’t taken any photos.

He reached out to Underdog Animal Rescue and Rehab-Moab, Utah in Moab, who connected him with us, as we tried to come up with a plan to help.

Britt Kendall was able to search for her later the same day we got the message, but did not see her that day. Britt and Jason checked again a couple days later and saw her for the first time. They already had a houseful of others, so no place to take her in, but they gave her food and water and were gathering info and photos which allowed Underdog to try and find a foster for her. She would not have been found if not for Jeremy reaching out on her behalf.

Once Britt and Jason found her they were bringing her food and water often. She was sweet and friendly and would get so excited each time she saw them. Thursday night we heard from Underdog that they could take her!!!

On Friday, Tina Clarke drove over to meet Britt. Finally the wonderful moment had arrived where she could be rescued! Tina was able to offer a temporary holding spot!! Because of the food and water, thankfully the dog had stayed close by. We were SO relieved, and we noted that she definitely had gained weight and looked SO pregnant!
